Problems came up. "I Love You Brandon" is up, but that's it. _________________ Punky's Treehouse main site: http://treehouse.6te.net/

Huh? I meant that I put up the screencaps. That addition was put up about a week after the review was written. No one remembers the argument that led to that? And by "no one", I mean Crestfallen and meister and possibly Freebie depending on what time period this was.
Also, I got "Punky Brewster's Workout" ('s screencaps) up as well, so I didn't lose the update but just delayed. Sorry. What happened was that I took the caps for the first episode and ended up with some health issues before I could get to the second. That's a story for another thread. _________________ Punky's Treehouse main site: http://treehouse.6te.net/

No wonder I couldn't find a reference to the argument anywhere! _________________ Spider - He is our hero

That's right, retroguy. I think that particular argument might even pre-date the FIRST Treehouse board.
Quick announcement: I am on heavy medication for the third time this week, and combined with a heavy weekend schedule (perhaps less heavy if I can't get shittin' better soon) I have no way possible to finish the review and screeencap two episodes. The review will be going in alone on Monday. The screencaps will wait until the next Monday and everything will simply roll forward one week. _________________ Punky's Treehouse main site: http://treehouse.6te.net/

Oh, I forgot you said you weren't...feeling well. Here's to the wonders of medication in the hopes of a swift recovery. I didn't know what argument was being referred to either. In fact, I don't remember any arguments at any Treehouse I've been to. Lucky that, someone could fall out, and that's a long way down. _________________ I had one of those knives that you could unscrew the bottom, and Stretch Armstrong, that dude was friggin' awesome, hid under the couch, pretended to be Steve Austin, watched Punky Brewster, or Blossom...

Well, it's been over a week, I still haven't recovered fully, and doctors are lazy assholes. Thanks a lot, you overly-educated, PhD bearing pricks.
This means I'll have to put the site on hold temporarily (and if you look through the archives, you can add "yet again" to the sentence). I don't know what it is with this place that it can't stay updating through a full season; there's been a break in every single one! But yeah, it's less my fault this time than, say, the first season hiatus where I basically said "not doing it" for like three months. _________________ Punky's Treehouse main site: http://treehouse.6te.net/

No rush and no commitments, take all the sick-time you need. And yes, do get better soon! Wait, that would be rushing. Get better at the pace that nature prescribes! Hopefully that will work out to be "soon" though. _________________ I had one of those knives that you could unscrew the bottom, and Stretch Armstrong, that dude was friggin' awesome, hid under the couch, pretended to be Steve Austin, watched Punky Brewster, or Blossom...

Pompone: No, I won't be doing that. Shout Factory holds the copyrights and has a very strong 'Net presence, so they probably wouldn't look too kindly on me uploading episodes and would get them taken down quickly. Plus, I am (was) swamped just trying to keep up on the reviews and the screencaps. Any video that shows up, either on the site or Youtube, would be clips at the most. Maybe one or two episodes as torrents. No more.
meister, you've hit the nail on the head. The main cause is stress, but the other little things haven't helped much either. In wretched shape, I am.
Anyways, as indicated in the Off-Topic thread, I've figured out both the cause and cure to my aliments, so that means I can start scheduling again with more certainty. Treehouse updates are going to resume in August, probably with just the review for the first week, then back to the regular schedule. It seems a bit far away, but it's necessary.
6te's been sending me some e-mails lately, mostly to the effect of "are you renewing your paid membership?" I'm going to have to wait a bit to renew the site, so beware the ads for a while. They were pretty bad before I turned them off back when, so you'll likely need to persue the archives with full ad-killer on until mid-August or so. Nothing I can do about that unfortunately, just make sure to go in with Firefox (with Adblock and full security settings) and your spyware blocker armed. I've gotten some notifications about different ads they were putting on the free accounts, so I'm getting the feeling that the banners (and pop-ups?) will be numerous. _________________ Punky's Treehouse main site: http://treehouse.6te.net/

Hmm, just checked up on the site. No ads, but the button links are off-center for some reason. Adblock's not reacting, so there's no ad being covered.
Mmm, suspicious. _________________ Punky's Treehouse main site: http://treehouse.6te.net/

Hmm, perhaps they're instigating people to renew their memberships and ad-free fees before they realize that the ads are gone anyway?
Paranoia much? Or perhaps they actually are sneakthieves. |

The buttons don't look off-center to me. Maybe that was a temporary thing. _________________

Hmmm. Other thought: Anyone else uses an aspect ratio other than 4:3? I've set the monitor up for 1440x900 resolution (as per the instructions, which state that as the optimal operation res), and maybe that has something to do with it? I can't find anything in the code doing it.
Man, this is nitpicky. Oh well. I'm just idly wondering because it's never done that before. The weird part is that it's just the top bar crunching together; the text sections still stretch out to the window width. _________________ Punky's Treehouse main site: http://treehouse.6te.net/

Without taking out a ruler, I have no idea what my screen resolution is. It's oblong though, I can tell you that much - almost widescreen looking. _________________

I'm glad you asked about screen resolution, as I was gonna ask the same thing today!
I have a 17'' screen and the resolution I usually have it set to is 1280x720.
However, when the technician called round yesterday afternoon with my XP and key (I'm all activated now! *hooray*), he looked at the screen, and was basically like "Ugh! What resolution do you have it set to?"
Anyway, he said the res was all wrong, and that, for a 17'' screen, 1024x768 is about right.
But I think it looks like crap.
So yeah, that's why I was gonna ask you all what resolution / screen size you guys have.
And am I the only treehouse dweller who is still using a bulky old monitor? Has the rest of the PC world gone flat? _________________

As far as I know I'm using 4:3 - it's certainly not widescreen. I use a 1024x768 resolution for everything because I like the way it looks.

No you're not - I'm still using the monitor from my original Windows computer (I may have used it for DOS too but I'm not sure). I would guess that it's about 17" as well. _________________ Spider - He is our hero

First of all, tell the techie to shut his hole and set the monitor how you want.
(Yes, I submitted to the manual's directions, but that because it had some ugly blur at 1024x768. Much better now. If the old setting looked great, it'd still be there.)
Second of all, I've gone flat, but not by choice. My old 13" tube monitor died in ugly, eye-busting fashion and no one around here sells brand new monitors in anything by LCD. I like the increased clarity, but good Lord are LCDs ever bright! I'm typing on the least bright preset right now and there's still enough bright in the whites to blind at twenty paces. I actually had to make a custom setting with the brightness and contrast all the way down to use the thing sometimes (especially in the middle of a headache... ow). _________________ Punky's Treehouse main site: http://treehouse.6te.net/

One of our flatscreen LCDs is exactly like that. Super super bright and unbearably colorful. Thankfully my laptop screen is a lot more subdued. _________________

I'll keep that in mind whenever I go hunting for an LCD display.
And normally, I may have told the techie to shut his hole, but he wasn't charging me anything for bringing me the CD, so I didn't want to ruffle his feathers. _________________
